Introduction to Accounting History
In the year of 1494, a historical event happens. The first book in accountancy, summa de arithmetical,  goemetria, proportioni et proportionalita contains a chapter of Partucularis De Computis Et scriptturis(The Rule of Double-entry Bookkeeping), of double entry book keeping system of accountancy was published by The Father of Accountancy, Luca Pacioli.

In the year 1445, The Father of Accountancy was born in Sansepolcro, Italy. He was brought up in this town and had abbacco education there. In 1464, He migrated to Venice to become a tutor to three sons of a merchant, Antononio de Rampiasi. He aided the merchant in business as he had basic education on business and merchant. He dedicated his written copy of his first book on mathematics to his three students of Venice. In the year 1477 to 1480, he taught at University of Perugia. He wrote his second book on mathematics and dedicated it to the students of the university under him. He worked at Zara (now Zarada) where he wrote his third book on mathematics. Latter he worked at University of Naples, University of Rome. In 1489, he returned back to Sansepolcro. In 1494, he went to venice to publish his book “Summa de areathmetica, geomatria, proportionio, at proportionallita” which contains a chapter of “particularsis de computis et scripturis”(reckoning and writing of double entry bookkeeping). In 1496, pacioli was invited by ludovico to teach mathematics at ludovico Sforza’s court in milan. There Leonardo da vinci was also invited. Both became friend there. As Milan was captured by france, Pacioli and davinci moved to venice in march,1500, and then moved to Florence. He was appointed in University of Pisa in florence to teach geometry at there in 1500. In 1510, he lectured again at Perugia and in 1514, he lectured again at Rome. He returned to Sansepolcro where he died at 1517.

Basis of Accounting

There are two basis of accounting. One is accrued basis and another one is cash basis. They are otherwise called merchandise basis and cash basis of accounting. Accrual Basis      Revenue, expenses, and transactions are recorded in books of accounts, when they arise or accrue under accrual basis. It follows accrual concept to record transactions in books of accounts. The payment or receipt of cash may have done or not but revenue, expenses, and transactions are recorded in the books of accounts, when it becomes due. “Time never waits for human” as like the sentence revenue, expenses, transactions never wait for its cash consideration.
